Martin Luther King Day of Service Notice:
Thanks to all who volunteered to drive, and if your name is not on my list, there will be another teacher contacting you about driving for their class on Monday.
For our day of service activity, we are going to be staying close to school and working

Bible:

Memory Verse - Philippians 4:6
We played a Bible game today to help us learn our Bible books.

Language Arts: Writing

We are doing a free write in which we are assigned to use creative verbs and adverbs.
We are also working on utilizing the concept of a storyline in our writing.

Science:

We learned about local winds and global winds and finished #10 and the vocabulary words sea breeze and land breeze on our objectives.

Social Studies:

For our first review for our test on Friday, we worked on page 358 and 359:
            - Vocabulary - all problems
            - People and Places - all problems
            - Facts and Main Ideas - #1-4, answers written in complete sentences.
They had 30 minutes to do all this

Language Arts: Reading

We worked on a worksheet for our book, The Giver, where we learned and practiced how to use context clues to define the word defiant.
We are also learning how the author, Lois Lowry, uses her language to setting to create the atmosphere of the book, instead of telling the reader directly.
We also read from C.S. Lewis' book, The Horse and His Boy

Math:

Retake of yesterday's test for those who needed it.
The others had concept worksheets to work on for the day, and then free time that they had earned by doing well on the test the first time.
