9/29/15

Bible:

Memory Verse - Romans 12:9
Today we talked about why God, who is our Creator, is the one who can truly tell us our purpose.  We compared it to having a Ford car and going to Chevy for mechanical information on it.  They could come close, but it is better to go to the company who made the item to get information about it.

Math:

We finished Investigation 2 in our groups, helping each other.  This teaches us how to ask for help, as well as allowing students to help each other, thereby learning the concept better.

Science:

Again, we worked on our objectives for Chapter 2b.  We began labeling the organelles on a drawing of an animal cell.  We took a prior knowledge 'quiz', and then corrected what we knew.  As the chapter progresses, we will be taking similar quizzes to help us refine our knowledge.

Social Studies:

We worked on cleaning up our rounds of simulation on land so that we can be more efficient with our time.  We now have a bunch of people who have died during the first winter.  Our death rate for our colonies is now at around

Language Arts:

Handwriting- Lesson 4 Day 2&3

Spelling- Worksheet 5

Grammar- I worked with some kids who were having difficulty identifying nouns.  The rest of us worked on our adjectives

Writing- We worked on editing our papers by choosing a minimum of three words to find exciting synonyms for using a Thesaurus

Reading- We read for 15 minutes out of Summer of the Monkeys
