Today was our last scheduled day of Peer conferencing during the editing process. The kids are working well toward effective peer conferencing. We talked about focusing on two things you can help the other student with.
Grammar - Identifying simple subjects and predicates. Soon we will be moving to parts of speech.
Science:
20 minutes of working on pages 64, 65 and our objectives. Then we went over in class the answers the students got. Learning to work independently.

Happy PFD Day. Remember not to go shopping over the next couple of days unless you enjoy crowded stores and long lines.
Bible:
Memory Verse - 2 Timothy 3:16
We learned that Jesus used to Old Testament to give two disciples a study about Himself (Luke 24), thereby teaching us that the Old Testament is useful for New Testament Christians as well.
Language Arts: Writing
We learned about Peer Editing today in regards to our Persuasive Essays.
We also worked on identifying verb phrases in class
Science:
Our Test is next Wednesday. I have encouraged the students to study a little bit every night.
We have gone over different study and memorization techniques in class
We went over the first half of the steps in Meiosis. We will be finishing our objectives tomorrow.
Language Arts: Reading
Student will be reading Day three in their books tonight.
Reading assignments are as follows for Day 3:
Water Sky - 15 pages per day
Tuck Everlasting- 2 chapters a day
Tale of Despereaux - 4 chapters a day
The Sign of the Beaver - 2 chapters a day
Math:

Lesson 26 - all problems
Language Arts: Spelling / Handwriting
Spelling - Sentences for the second side of our list
Handwriting - Lesson 3 Day 4

We worked on how to write a counter argument paragraph for our persuasive essays. Some kids are on to the self editing process.
Science:
Test Next wednesday
Today we reviewed the process and steps involved in Mitosis
Language Arts: Reading
I read a chapter out of Little Britches today, which dealt with the family Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions
We did not get to reading today, we were a little distracted and talked about Christmas traditions
Math:

We went over two different Mnemonics, or memorization techniques.
Social Studies:
Students are each working on a single aspect of their group Revolutionary War periodical.

Students were assigned new reading books today, here are the books and their reading lengths:
