Welcome back to another school year!!!
Today was mostly about procedures, introductions, math placement test, and beginning to learn how to work and learn in class.
We went over the supply list and each student organized themselves for the year. Some also recognized that they may have been missing items and have agreed to bring them in the next couple of days. If you need a refresher of the list, you can find it here:

Please make sure that your student has a personal Bible for class!
Bible: No Memory Verse this week, but we will have one next week. I will introduce the idea of personal worship time to the kids, but I will begin recording it next week.
Math: Placement test. This is an opportunity to see what the kids remember from last year, and where those who are new fit into the math program. This is a two day process and won't be finished until tomorrow.
Spelling: We will begin spelling in earnest next week
Social Studies: We began working on learning the concepts of latitude and longitude.
Science: We began to learn how to read and gather information in a textbook.
Reading: We will begin our reading a whole class book, Shepherd Warrior by Bradley Booth, tomorrow.
PE: We went over the philosophy of playing games, how to have fun and be considerate of others, and did some stretching and conditioning. We will be running a mile once a week beginning next week, so please make sure your student has good running shoes!
